Who’s behind Tourism Translations?

I am a freelance English–German translator and language specialist for the tourism and travel industry. I help tourism boards, hotels, B&Bs, self-catering accommodation providers and destinations to communicate with travellers in an authentic and local way.

Since 2016, I have specialised in creating English–German translations, localisation and transcreation that capture the culture, story and emotion behind every message. Clients across the UK, Germany and Europe rely on me to ensure that their brand sounds just as good in German as it does in English (or vice versa).

Qualifications

My qualifications

I am a qualified English-German translator, having received specialist training at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and a PGCE for the post-compulsory sector at the University of Huddersfield.

My work involves more than just translating words; I adapt tone, intent and content to make the text feel natural, trustworthy and useful for travellers.

Combining language expertise with insight into how people research, compare and book trips, I create hotel descriptions, destination pages and itineraries that encourage readers to click 'Book'.
