April Roundup
Goodbye April – you’ve been good for recharging my batteries. April seemed like a long holiday. It really felt like an extended break, with end-of-term and a brilliant trip to Mallorca bringing a welcome shift of pace. Sunshine, jasmine in the air, palm trees, ancient olive groves, coastal national parks, and historic towns that make you slow down.

Back in the UK, the weather is finally catching up, which feels like perfect timing to get back into sports, matches, and some routine. Because as much as we all like to power through, work–life balance isn’t optional if you want to keep going long term.
On the business side, things are getting busy. I’ve just wrapped a fairly chunky guide book, and my monthly networking session was a good reminder of why stepping out of the solo bubble matters. Real conversations, fresh perspectives, and super ideas that you simply don’t get when you’re working in isolation as a freelancer.
If you’re planning tourism or marketing content and want English–German translation or transcreation that actually sounds like your brand – not like it’s been filtered through layers of AI – now’s a good time to start the conversation.
How did April treat your business?
