Three hours over three kilometres: The mystery adventure in Lincoln was a very welcome break from work and screens, and a great reminder that “chilling out” doesn’t always mean doing nothing!
The trail, designed for adults (but also for families), took us across Lincoln, weaving through High Street, hidden corners, and some atmospheric landmarks. We ended up at iconic stops like Priory Gate, Roman Gate and Castle Hill, and walked round Lincoln Cathedral to explore exterior points of interest at the West Front and Judgement Porch.
Somewhere between following clues and pretending I definitely knew what I was going to solve, I also met plenty of other explorers on the same trail.
What I liked most wasn’t just the puzzle element (think questions from the “1% Club” rather than “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”), but the way it made familiar places feel new again.
A fun concept which was excellently presented. I would highly recommend this trail and plan to buy a copy to explore another city.
Have you ever done a mystery walk or self-guided trail like this?
