£80 Million on Translation?
It has been revealed that the NHS has spent nearly £80 million on translation services over five years (a whopping £403 million across the public sector)! 😲 It's vital for access and safety, no doubt. But it got me thinking... if that's the cost of providing access, what's the hidden cost of businesses – especially in tourism, hospitality and marketing – failing to communicate clearly across languages?

Too often, translation is seen as a tick-box exercise, an expense to be minimised. Really?
High-quality, culturally sensitive translation (and let's not forget transcreation) is not an expense. It's your global handshake – your storyteller.
➡️ Get it wrong? Confusion, lost bookings, brand damage, customers clicking away.
➡️ Get it right? Happy guests, seamless experiences, glowing reviews, loyal customers and a healthier bottom line. (Much better!)
Cutting corners on professional translation is a false economy. Whether it's ensuring guest safety or creating marketing that really delivers, getting the language right isn't just nice to do – it's essential.
